Transformer fire knocks out power in Bartlett; MLGW reporting nearly 7K customers without power across the county

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Thousands of residents in Shelby County are without power Thursday morning.

The largest outage is in the Bartlett area. According to Bartlett police, MLGW is on the scene of a transformer fire at Elmore and Highway 70.

BPD says there are numerous traffic lights out on Stage Road, St. Elmo, Kirby Whitten and Altruria.

MLGW is working to restore power, police say, and they’re urging drivers to be extra cautious.
