MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - After 11 years as chancellor of Memphis’ University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Dr. Steven Schwab announced Tuesday that he’s retiring.

Schwab increased the student body to 3,300, tripled the center’s clinical enterprise, and increased revenues. A national search for a replacement is underway.

Schwab will continue to serve as chancellor until June 30, 2022, unless a successor comes sooner.
