Three people, including one child, shot over weekend

Three people, including one child, shot on McMillen Street
On Saturday evening at approximately 8:20 p.m., Memphis police responded to a shots fired call near McMillan Street and Essex Avenue.

(WMC) - On Saturday evening at approximately 8:20 p.m., Memphis police responded to a shots fired call near McMillan Street and Essex Avenue.

Upon arriving, officers found an 8-year-old boy near the intersection of Carnegie Street and Essex Avenue with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital by Memphis Fire Department in non-critical condition. He has since been released from the hospital.

While in the area, authorities found a 21-year-old man who also had been shot. The victim was taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable. 

Officers located a third victim who had been taken to the hospital by a private vehicle. The age of the third victim is unknown, but officials say that the he/she was in non-critical condition. The victim has since been released from the hospital.

According to a preliminary investigation by MPD, the victims were at a party when someone began shooting. 

No other information is available at this time, this is on ongoing investigation.
