MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Halloween was a trick instead of a treat for Sabrina Cox, Cardrevia Gray and Ashley Hatfield when they were arrested near a school.
A police affidavit says the women, who were caught up in a sting that targeted people who advertised over the internet as escorts, were arrested after trying to sell sex.
Officers say on Halloween night, a confidential informant working for the Organized Crime Unit and the Vice Squad posed as a customer and called the number listed for the woman. The informant then made arrangements to meet the women at an East Memphis hotel. Police say in each case the women discussed sexual favors for amounts ranging from $120 to $200.
Police say the women are in even more trouble because they are accused of committing their crime in the vicinity of Ridgeway High School, which will result in additional charges of prostitution in the vicinity of a school or a church.
All three women are being held at jail east.
