A two-year-old feud over a wedding bouquet ends with an arrest

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Police charged Tara Talley with aggravated robbery on Monday following a fight over a bouquet toss at a wedding.

Gwendolyn Talley got married two years ago. When she threw the bouquet, Tara Talley and Loretha Ayers collided trying to catch it. Ayers won. People at the wedding say the two started yelling, even calling each other names. One wedding guest said Ayers celebrated by taunting, "I got the bouquet."

"I hadn't heard nothing. This is all a surprise to me. The wedding was my Auntie's wedding. She's Tara's sister," said Marie Talley.

A few days ago, the women were socializing and Tara Talley brought up the bouquet toss, noting that Ayers had injured her hand. When Ayers started walking away, she says Talley walked up behind her and hit her in the head, knocking her unconscious.

When she came to, Ayers found that her fur hat, watch, driver's license, EBT card, and her bottom dentures were missing.

"That's ridiculous. Somebody stole somebody's teeth. How the lady going to eat. She need her teeth," said Marie Talley.

Ayers did not want to talk about the incident.
