MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - One student was taken to the hospital and seven students were suspended after a fight at Melrose High School on Tuesday.
Police rushed to the school to break up the fight, which happened before lunch.
Memphis police officers say the school resource officer used pepper spray to get two students to stop fighting.
Shelby County Schools said seven students were suspended for their involvement in the fight. SCS believes the fight was related to arguments that started outside of school.
WMC Action News 5's Ben Watson is digging deeper into this story to learn why the officer decided to use pepper spray on the students.
