MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A patient at a Regional One outpatient clinic was sexually assaulted while in an exam room.

Memphis police are investigating the sexual assault that was reported at the MedPlex Clinic in the 800 block of Madison Avenue.

Police arrested Desmond Lobbins, 29, after the victim identified him out of a six-person lineup.

The victim told police that Lobbins entered her exam room, put on blue gloves, grabbed her breasts, and inappropriately touched her. She said Lobbins then left, but returned for a second time and assaulted her again.

"I'm a patient, it could've been me, but by it not being me, I hope whoever it was, they take care of that." Diana Northern, a patient at Regional One, said.

Lobbins is charged with rape and sexual battery.

"He needs to be fired," Northern said. "He doesn't need to be here if he had a problem like that."

The MedPlex Clinic is part of Regional Medical Center.

Lobbins has worked at MedPlex for nine months. He has no prior criminal history, but he is now on unpaid leave.

Regional Medical Center officials released the following statement:

The safety and health of our patients is our number one priority. Any employee's behavior that compromises the health and well-being of our patients is not tolerated. On Thursday, May 21, 2015, an incident was reported on our campus involving alleged inappropriate behavior of an employee in the outpatient center. The incident was reported to law enforcement. The employee was immediately placed on leave without pay and is not allowed on our property. We are conducting an internal investigation and cooperating fully with law enforcement. We will take further action based on the findings of our investigation.
