The Mayo Clinic chose Methodist and Memphis over Nashville, Jackson, Mississippi, and Little Rock.
Lebonheur Children's Hospital ranked 32nd on a list of the top 50 children's hospitals in the world.

The Shelby County Commission Committee announced plans to honor the late Judge D'Army Bailey.
Wednesday, the committee voted to name the Shelby County Civil Courthouse after the civil rights trailblazer and founder of the National Civil Rights Museum.
Monday, the full Shelby County Commission will vote on the measure.
At a gas station in Covington, Tennessee, Mid-South bikers came to the rescue of a woman who was stranded far from home.
The woman locked her keys, wallet, and phone inside her car. When they saw her in tears, they stepped in and pried her door open with a coat hanger.
