MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Police officers are investigating a fatal shooting in a shopping mall in the 7600 block of Polo Grounds Boulevard.
According to police, a teenager went into the LA Fitness and shot a teen.
The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Vicdarrius Pollard, a recent Kirby High School graduate.
"You shouldn't have to come up here and bury your child for having fun," said the victim's uncle..
"Graduate out of school to live your life, and coward come out and make it short," added Pollard's uncle.
A video posted to Facebook showed the moments after the shooting. Pollard lay lifeless on the basketball court as others circled him, stunned by what had just happened.
Police said they believe he was shot after an argument with someone who then retrieved a gun from his car. That person then ran away.
Memphis Police Department searched the surrounding area by air as people on the ground watched in horror and disbelief.
"You don't think of places of recreation as places where aggression would be channeled in an inappropriate way, but that appears to be what happened this time," said MPD Major K. J. White.
Meanwhile, family and friends of the victim are trying to piece together the details of a seemingly senseless death.
"I'm getting tired of burying the kids you're trying to raise right for the kids that's trying to take them out for no reason at all."
