Group to raise money for White Station High School locker room

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A group of board members, coaches and parents are rallying together to raise money to upgrade the football locker rooms at White Station High School.

They started a page on the website iOby, used to crowdfund neighborhood projects. On the page, the group said the locker rooms are unsafe for student-athletes.

The project includes filth and locker removal, plumbing repair, AC and pest-control. In addition, the group is requesting clean floors, fresh paint, new lockers and secure doors. They need $24,680 to complete the project.  As of July 31, they had $6,255 on iOby plus a $10,000 anonymous donation. They have until August 14 to raise the money.

The group needs $5,000 for locker removal and clean out. That will include floor, wall, ceiling, bathroom and storage closet power washing. Then, they need about $25,000 for new locker installation. They will paint and stain the locker room, add a bench seat, secure lock storage, a new front door and player name plates.
