MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The Moon River Music Festival, presented by Memphis band Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, is returning to Memphis for its second annual event.
The event will take place at Levitt Shell on August 15. The lineup, headlined by Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, also includes NEEDTOBREATHE, Switchfoot, Colony House, Judah & the Lion, Stephen Kellogg, and local Memphis acts Myla Smith and Cereus Bright.
The event will begin with a special opening set by Drew and Ellie Holcomb.
Drew Holcomb is a native Memphian and chose Memphis to hold the festival.
"I hope to introduce non-Memphis fans to Memphis and to introduce Memphis fans to other bands that we have met out on the road. For us, it really will be like a family reunion," Holcomb said in an interview with RSVP Magazine. "We want this festival to be a reflection of the spirit of Memphis; a low-key, family affair. And we want to continue to make this an annual event."
Tickets for the festival are $35. Last year, the event brought in 3,500 fans and organizers expect more this year. Proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Levitt Shell and the Soulsville Foundation.
