MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A man is in jail and charged with shooting two teenage girls in August 2015.
On August 10, 2015, police found two teenage girls with gunshot wounds in the 6500 block of Birch Walk Drive.
The victims said they were talking outside when Jajuan Herron walked up to them and began shooting.
One of the victims told police she recognized Herron from a previous incident involving her ex-boyfriend.
On April 7, 2016, officers attempted to stop a Kia after the driver went through a stop sign.
According to the affidavit, Herron, the driver, refused to pull over. The police stopped the chase to let undercover detectives take over.
When the vehicle finally stopped, Herron attempted to get a box out of the trunk and another man in the car tried to get a 5-year-old child from the backseat.
When Herron and the passenger, Quinterius Gude, noticed deputies, they ran off.
The two were eventually caught. A K-9 officer identified the box that Herron was reaching for and found bags of marijuana inside.
Herron, 21, is charged with four counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of possession of a firearm in commission of a felony. Gude is charged with evading arrest and drug charges.
