Ole Miss pitcher arrested on DUI charge

OXFORD, MS (WMC) - Ole Miss pitcher Andy Pagnozzi was arrested Friday and charged with DUI.

The freshman was on the mound for the Rebels on Sunday anyway, beating Arkansas.

Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco said they have handled the situation, but did not say what punishments, if any, were dealt. In a statement, Bianco said:

"We are aware of the matter, and from a team standpoint, it has been handled internally. We understand the seriousness of the situation and address it with fitting consequences when instances like this occur."

Pagnozzi's father Tom played 12 seasons in the major leagues with the St. Louis Cardinals. Pagnozzi,19, has a 5-1 record on the season and has been a big reason the Rebels have been so successful this season. The team is currently ranked 13 in the nation.
