Family, friends hold vigil for missing mother
MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Friends and family hosted a vigil for a missing mother to help spread awareness about her disappearance at exactly three weeks to the day of her disappearance.
Keila Freeman, 29, went missing on September 6. She was last seen at her home on Meadow Ridge Trail in Hickory Hill. Her husband told police she came home but never came inside.
Investigators found her keys still in the ignition of her car and her purse, jeans, and debit card inside the home.
"Keep Keila's name alive. Someone out there knows something about Keila," Ebonie Reed, one of Keila's sorority sisters, said. "Hoping that each day you will get a phone call that she has been found."
Freeman's husband, Randall Freeman, was arrested and charged with aggravated arson in a separate case just a few days after her disappearance. He is accused of setting a house on fire with five people inside.
"It's just a big shock to the family. Her mother is just still upset," family friend Corey Nelson said.
Police are still investigating Freeman's disappearance, even to the point of showing up to the vigil. Friends of Keila are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
Friends and loved ones are still hoping that someone will bring the key piece of information to police that will bring Keila home, as they still hold on to their memories of the woman they love.
"Very kind, humble, laughing," friend Rickey Means said.
A $10,000 reward is available for anyone who can help find Keila.
