MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Move cones, get out the way. Beginning today, Friday at 12 noon until Thursday at 6 a.m., drivers across Tennessee will not have to worry about construction impacting their Independence Day travel plans.
"Over 831,000 motorists are expected to travel Tennessee's interstates and state routes this July 4th holiday," Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner John Schroer said. "To help motorists reach their destinations safely and without unnecessary delays, we are suspending lane closures during this holiday travel time."
