SHELBY COUNTY, TN (WMC) - Shelby County Chief Public Defender Stephen Bush has announced he is stepping down.
Bush has worked in the office 27 years and was appointed chief public defender in 2010.
In his retirement letter, he said his plan was to stay until Mayor Mark Luttrell finishes his term, which ends August 31.
He also praised his colleagues, saying in part:
