Information for Gulf Coast evacuees

Mandatory evacuees will be taken to one of 9 shelters at Memphis Park Services community centers.

Hotel and motel rooms are full. Memphis Shelters for voluntary evacuees are being managed by the Shelby County Emergency Operations Center and The American Red Cross Mid-South Chapter. To find a shelter, call the Operations Center, open 24 hours, at (901) 515-2525.

Pets are not allowed in shelters. To make boarding arrangements, call the EMA Operations Center at (901) 515-2525. The Humane Society is working with them to place animals.

DeSoto County Emergency Management Agency in Northern Mississippi has established an evacuee information hotline, staffed from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m: (662) 429-8863, or (662) 429-8864.

G.W. Henderson Recreation Center, 1165 Abbey Drive, just off U.S. 61 in Tunica, Mississippi - AT CAPACITY

World Overcomers Outreach Ministries, 6655 Winchester Road, Memphis. - AT CAPACITY

Bellevue will open its shelter for refugees of hurricane Gustav Monday at 2:00 p.m. Those seeking shelter should go directly to the GRACE Family Life Center located on the church campus at 2000 Appling Road, (I-40, exit 15) in East Memphis.
