Lady Tigers Like Chance This Time in NCAA Soccer Tournament

There's an old saying that goes, "oh what a difference a year makes.."

In the case of the Memphis Lady Tigers Soccer Team, the only difference they want is to Win in the NCAA Tournament.

The U of M Women back on the practice Field today after finding out their First Round matchup will be against the University of Illinois on Friday..

The Lady Tigers blew their way through the Conference USA Tournament over the weekend in Houston.

Former Collierville Standout Sophomore Ashley Berra's Breakaway Goal puts the capper on a 4-1 whitewash of East Carolina for the C-USA Title..the second straight for Memphis.

The Lady Tigers made the Big Dance for the First Time last year..only to lose in the first round on the road at UNC Greensboro 1-Nil.

Midfielder Laura Laufenberg earned Most Valuable Offensive Player in the C-USA tourney.

"We deserve to be here, and we're really talented, and all the teams we played we knew we deserved to be here ..and I think we're all really confident now."

Kylie Hayes is the Lady Tigers All-Time Leading Goal Scorer:

"We did get our chance last year and we didn't perform to our abilities. But I think its gonna help us this year because we're just so calm about what we do now. "

The Lady Tigers Kelsey Bakker is the Most Valuable Defensive Player in the C-USA Tournament.

"We expect to go further this year. Our group of girls is really amzing this year and we're starting to click.I'm just so excited! "

The Lady Tigers will play at 4pm Friday in Columbia, Missouri.
